Blockchain analyst ZachXBT reported that $7 million of the $330 million Bitcoin stolen from an elderly US crypto holder has been frozen with Binance’s help. The victim fell for a social engineering attack, and the Bitcoin was quickly laundered through multiple exchanges into Monero (XMR). Two suspects, identified as a Somalian national known as “Nina” and an accomplice called “W0rk,” have since deleted their social media accounts. Binance has a history of aiding law enforcement, and this incident highlights the vulnerability of early Bitcoin adopters who may lack updated security measures. Investigations are ongoing to trace the remaining funds.
