Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has launched derivatives trading in the UK, targeting professional investors. This new service, now available to qualifying clients after a specific onboarding process, is part of Kraken’s growth strategy in its second-largest market. Access to these derivatives is restricted to clients defined as “professional” by the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Kraken views this segment as crucial, as derivatives make up 70-75% of total crypto trading volume. Operated through the Kraken Multilateral Trading Facility, a regulated platform, these services are accessible via Kraken’s Bermuda-based futures broker. Kraken aims to capitalize on the growing institutional interest in derivatives.
