“London,” directed by Sebastian Brameshuber, premieres at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film, handled by Square Eyes, stars Bobby Sommer driving between Vienna and Salzburg, picking up car-sharing passengers. These interactions create a portrait of modern Europe, revealing aspects of Bobby’s life. Brameshuber recreated car rides in a studio for candid conversations, using an earpiece to guide Sommer. The A1 motorway’s history, designed by the Nazis, is also a key element. The director’s inspiration came from his own car-sharing experiences and the film “Two-Lane Blacktop.” The title “London” is meant to evoke a feeling of freedom and a mental destination.
