Metaplanet, a Bitcoin-focused firm, has established a new subsidiary, Bitcoin Japan Co., Ltd., and acquired the premium domain Bitcoin.jp. The subsidiary will manage media operations, including Bitcoin Magazine Japan, and organize the Bitcoin Japan Conference in 2027.
This marks a strategic expansion beyond its core business of holding Bitcoin (over 20,000 BTC) into building a comprehensive ecosystem. The move aims to establish Metaplanet as Japan’s central Bitcoin information hub and create new commercial revenue streams. The company also announced a US subsidiary to focus on Bitcoin income operations and derivatives trading.
