The Solana-based Telegram trading bot project Aqua allegedly executed a rug pull, vanishing with approximately 21,770 SOL (around $4.65 million) just hours before its token launch. Promoted heavily by various influencers, Aqua’s presale funds were systematically transferred through intermediary wallets, raising fraud suspicions following unexpected changes to its terms, including the introduction of a vesting period. Despite initial excitement surrounding its fundraising model, the project’s sudden disappearance has highlighted ongoing issues with oversight in presale fundraising, leaving investors vulnerable to significant losses. This incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with Telegram-based projects.
